The National Career
Assessment Examination or NCAE is a test taken by high school students in the
Philippines that determines their strengths in different career fields. That
explains what NCAE was all about. For
me, this exam is merely a basis for choosing what course you want to take in
college. It still depends on the student on what path he decides to choose. It
just helps students in choosing the appropriate course for them.
As what I perceive,
students who took NCAE pursue the result of this assessment. But NCAE test
results are only one part of the bigger picture in determining the best career
fit for a student. Students shouldn't make major decisions based on NCAE
results alone. Their entire school career as well as their own goals and
interests should be considered when deciding on a course of study and a career.
It still depends on their interests.
The
main goal of NCAE is to determine which careers the students are ideally suited
for; students can plan a course of study that will give them the skills and
education they will need for their ideal careers. Students are free to choose
on what field they want to excel, on what course they think they are fitted,
and on what route or path they want to walkthrough. NCAE was only a partial
help for them in making right decisions that can lead them to success.
“The more decisions that
you are forced to make alone, the more you are aware of your freedom to choose.”
